The tactician took over from Stefano Colantuono on March 4 and steered the club out of the relegation zone.

“We had a good performance today, especially compared to the last one,” he told Rai Sport after a 1-1 draw at Chievo.

“We held out well, kept a lot of possession and created many chances. The only problem is we don’t make more of our scoring opportunities, as we had at least five or six in the first half.

“We’ve done well since I got here, although at times the team lacked a bit of courage and confidence.

“My future? There is a deal to renew the contract with safety, so next season I will continue to be the Atalanta Coach.”
