The Blaugrana and ex-Roma Coach Luis Enrique will now face either Juventus or Real Madrid in Berlin next month, their first final in this tournament for four years.

The Germans knew they had to start strong and they certainly did, as after seven minutes ex-Roma defender Mehdi Benatia was allowed a completely free header from a corner.

However, Barcelona equalised and above all got an away goal. Luis Suarez sprung the offside trap from a Leo Messi through ball and rolled across for Neymar to tap in.

This left Bayern with a mountain to climb and four more goals to score. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen flew to beat away a looping Thomas Muller header, but the Germans poured forward and were sliced apart on the counter again with a very similar move, Suarez setting up Neymar at the back post.

Ter Stegen continued to frustrate Bayern with a fantastic double save on Robert Lewandowski, scrambling back to stop it completely crossing the line.

Lewandowski got his goal eventually, firing in from the edge of the box after sending Javier Mascherano to ground, and Muller curled a great finish to turn the game around again on the night. If nothing else, the 3-2 victory restored a little pride.

It should've been 3-3 in stoppages, but Neymar tried to roll it across for Messi and over-hit the pass when he'd been clear on goal for a hat-trick.
