The veteran striker was widely expected to leave the Zebrette at the end of the season, with his agent saying it was ‘very difficult’ to see him staying.

However, the player himself appears to have had a change of heart after a rapturous reception at Friuli on Sunday.

“I have a wedding on June 6, and then I’m going to the beach,” Di Natale revealed to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’ll decide there, I have to think hard. I’m playing well, and I’ve regained the desire to play and offer my qualities.

“For the future, it’s not money that matters, what matters is that the Pozzo family [who own Udinese] always accommodated me and made me feel good.

“The crowd against Sampdoria? What struck me the most was the tens of thousands of people in the stand with those signs.

“It was great, beautiful. It meant a lot to me, and even more to my son Filippo, who was so impressed with that human sea.

“It was an act of incredible love.”
