“I think the teams would’ve been highly motivated even if they weren’t both chasing European positions,” said Mancio in a Press conference.

“They have always been entertaining games between Inter and Lazio. We are fighting for the Europa League, Lazio for the Champions League and second place.

“I expect it to be a very open game with many scoring opportunities for both sides.”

The Coach was asked if he was cheering on Lazio in the race for a top three finish, having worked there as player and tactician.

“All the sides are doing well and it’s a shame we can’t have all four go into the Champions League. It will be a fight to the bitter end this season.

“As for us, we’ll do everything possible to get there, as there are several teams crammed up within a few points. If we don’t qualify, then Inter will remain a great club and we’ll still challenge for the top spots next term.

“The team has improved and I am positive going into the last four games. We are building a side that can reach the Champions League and fight for the title, but it’s only normal that will take a little time.

“We are working well and the defence has improved. It will take a few more months, I don’t know how many, but we are on the right track.

“We need to make as few errors as possible, as at times some paradoxical mistakes cost us dearly.”

Andrea Ranocchia is struggling with a fitness problem and Mancini confirmed “I have a doubt in defence for tomorrow.

“Do Inter play better away from home? On a tactical level it’s probable, but I still feel the best thing is to play at San Siro. Perhaps we suffer the pressure a little, but it is one of the most important stadiums in Europe.”
