“We have to consider this game decisive for our safety, because that is how Atalanta are approaching it and we therefore need to match them in terms of determination,” said the Coach.

“If we get a result in Bergamo, we can consider our objective of Serie A safety practically achieved.

“We are facing a side that is gambling with an important chunk of the campaign and we must treat it the same way in order to survive the impact.

“Atalanta are a physical side with important strikers and players who are excellent in the one-on-one situations. They will be aggressive and we have to keep it clean.

“I want my team to not make mistakes and not hand the game to our opponents, which is what we’ve been doing recently.

“Unfortunately we’re making more errors than usual of late. I hope that at least we can learn from those experiences, because we must always remember that if we play at only 99 per cent, we can lose against anyone.”
