“We have always played our game, but if in the past we used to finish the chances we created, at the moment they aren’t going in,” said Iachini in his Press conference.

“Now opposition teams know our style of football and try to cut off the spaces. We realise we haven’t had as many points as we deserve and are trying to find consistency. The trident attack is an option I think about.”
The Palermo boss also complained at the constant speculation over players including Paulo Dybala, Franco Vazquez, Edgar Barreto and January departure Ezequiel Munoz.
“For a while now it’s been just transfer gossip and there’s been far too much said around our team. We’ve lost important players too.
“There’s no reason to get rid of players just because their contract is up for renewal. We could’ve done like Fiorentina with Neto, instead we gifted Munoz to Sampdoria and had the whole Barreto controversy. Barreto is pushing just as hard as he always did, but now every mistake is highlighted.
“Everyone will continue to give 200 per cent this season, I can assure you. Their poor form is not linked to the transfer market. They are young and a dip in form is inevitable.
“It’s not true that my team lacks motivation. If Vazquez had scored instead of hitting the woodwork nine times, we’d be talking about something else right now. Franco must also mature and learn not to get discouraged when these things happen.
“ We have to concentrate on the now and not think about tomorrow. That means focusing on Udinese, who have excellent individuals and deserve respect.
“I don’t want anyone to think our season is already over. I want to see the same mentality as always.”
