Zdenek Zeman insists Cagliari can still stay up, despite being five points from safety.

The Czech Coach returned to the club last month, having initially been replaced on the bench by Gianfranco Zola, but has been unable to turn around a run of form which has seen no wins in nine games.

“Yes, I still believe,” Zeman responded when asked about avoiding relegation in his Press conference ahead of the Genoa game.

“These aren’t just empty words, we have the means to do it. We always play to win, and if we win two more games than Atalanta and Cesena then we’ll achieve safety.

“Of course, it’s clear that the fewer games that remain, the more difficult it is. So a victory [tomorrow] would be a small step.”
