The Rossoneri have submitted plans for a new arena in the Portello area of the city, with a decision over the preferred bidder for the land expected by the end of this month.

Despite this, Tuttosport reports that there are doubts at Casa Milan over the viability of the project, with the main problem being the cost of moving from San Siro.

The entire project could cost around €300m, and it the newspaper reports that banks would be unwilling to loan such a sum to a stadium project without certain guarantees.

It is therefore believed that the Diavolo are looking at alternatives, with the intention of building in areas which would secure European Union development subsidies such as the Expo area.
