There were ugly scenes in this Saturday’s meeting between Roma and Napoli, with Ultras in the Curva Sud unveiling a banner accusing the slain fan’s mother of profiteering from his death.

Proceeds of a book written by Antonella Leardi were donated to the hospital which treated her son, but a section of the Giallorossi support accused her of exploting her son's death.

The Lega Serie A have taken a dim view of the incident, and they have decided that the Curva Sud will be closed for Roma’s match against Atalanta on April 19.

In their official statement, the ruling body of the League criticised the banners which were "insulting to the mother of a supporter of the other team who died in dramatic circumstances."

The report also criticised discriminatory chanting from some Lupi supporters based on territorial origin.
