Max Allegri believes two wins will take Juventus ‘two-thirds’ of the way to the Scudetto, but has a midfield headache.

The Bianconeri are 14 points clear at the top of Serie A with 10 games to play, with the next two games against Empoli and Parma.

“I’ll try to field the best team I can to face Empoli, who are doing well” Allegri told journalists in his pre-match Press conference.

“They’ve done great things this season, and have had eight consecutive good results, so we have to be good and have the right attitude to win the League.

“We’re 10 matches from the end, and we’re still missing a few points and a few victories to win the Scudetto. I think two-thirds of the Scudetto will be won if we beat Empoli and Parma.

“I’d say that for tomorrow there are a lot of question marks, because the last two only returned [from international duty] yesterday, [Carlos] Tevez and [Roberto] Pereyra.

“Today I’ll have to evaluate the conditions of both, as well as the conditions of the others in the only training session we have to prepare for the game.

“For the regista? I don’t know, it depends on training today. [Andrea] Pirlo is definitely out. We don’t have [Claudio] Marchisio, we don’t have [Paul] Pogba.

“So the midfielders we have available are [Stefano] Sturaro, [Arturo] Vidal, [Simone] Padoin and Pereyra.

“As for which of those will play in front of the defence, we could even play Vidal there, we’ll see.”

Allegri also discussed the controversy around Claudio Marchisio’s knee and says he could be available for Tuesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final with Fiorentina.

“I’m sorry about what happened. The important thing is that Marchisio is healthy, that his knee is fine, and even if he won’t be available tomorrow, he certainly will be next week.

“Fiorentina? Let’s see, the important thing is that his knee is fine.

“By the way, I don’t think it was easy to go from thinking you have a ruptured cruciate ligament to a healthy knee.

“He’s bounced back well, psychologically. He’s fine, he’s following his own training regime and we hope to have him available for Florence.”
