Former FIGC candidate Demetrio Albetrini takes a stab at President Carlo Tavecchio's rule, and discusses oriundi.

Albertini ran against Tavecchio last year and criticised the Federation chief as he was interviewed on occasion of a public event at the Expo Gate in Milan.

“The management of the federal council can't be undertaken by a single person,” he said of his former competitor, as reported by Tuttosport.

“There's a council and it can't be ignored.”

Albertini also took the opportunity to discuss the question of oriundi, which has become controversial after Azzurri Coach Antonio Conte was criticised for calling players born outside of Italy.

“It's perfectly normal. The oriundi are a consequence of the choices made within our League.

“This is going to be the outcome as long as our clubs continue to reduce the playing time of Italian footballers.”
