Nigel de Jong warned he will only decide his future after “figuring out what Milan’s plans are.”

The midfielder’s contract is due to expire in June, so he will be a free agent able to walk away and already has interest from the likes of Manchester United, Juventus and Manchester City.

“I haven’t decided yet and I don’t know when I will make that decision,” De Jong told nu.nl while on international duty with Holland.

“I haven’t decided yet and I don’t know when I will make that decision,” De Jong told nu.nl while on international duty with Holland.

“It could be at the end of April or at the end of the season. First of all I want to figure out what Milan’s plans are to get back to being the great club of the past.

“I never read Italian papers or watch their television, as everyone can write and say what they like. I am concentrated on the field and doing my best for the rest of the season.

“It’s still too early to say where I’ll be playing next term. It could be Milan, Ajax or another club. There are several options, as I will be a free agent.

“I’ll take a little time so that I can make the best decision.”
