Full-back Lorenzo De Silvestri is open about Sampdoria's objective being European qualification, but uncertain about his future there.

The Blucerchiati are flying high this year as they command fourth place in Serie A's standings, and De Silvestri says the players are drawing confidence from this.

“Everything's gone well in these days without the Coach,” he said to Sky Sports, in reference to Sinisa Mihajlovic's visit to Empoli Coach Maurizio Sarri.

“There is great serenity, among other things because our position allows for that.

“In any case the staff surrounding us are of an extremely high level and we know by heart everything that we have to do.

“At this stage of the season, we definitely aim for Europe. After meeting our first target, which was to avoid relegation, we've set ourselves a new one.

“Over these final 10 games we want to give everything and reach as far up as possible.”
De Silvestri's tone became substantially less confident, however, when discussing his own future.

“I don't know anything, I haven't yet spoken with either of the clubs involved,” said the player co-owned by Fiorentina and Sampdoria.

“The transfer market will be business for my agent and the two clubs in June. For the moment I'm only thinking about Sampdoria, we want to make it into Europe because we all deserve it.”
