Speaking in today's Press conference alongside Marco Verratti, Candreva touched on the controversy surrounding the call-up of oriundi players, which was criticised by Inter Coach Roberto Mancini among others.

Speaking in today's Press conference alongside Marco Verratti, Candreva touched on the controversy surrounding the call-up of oriundi players, which was criticised by Inter Coach Roberto Mancini among others.
“I think they add extra value to the team. They [Eder and Franco Vazquez] are having an outstanding season.
“Eder is proving himself, as he's already been doing well in the past few years. We just have to give them the right conditions to show their qualities.
“As for [Mirko] Valdifiori, I wish him the best of luck, as the national team is everybody's dream
“Valdifiori is enjoying a great year, like all of Empoli. It's nice to see them playing together with such attention to detail.”
Candreva was also asked whether he felt comfortable playing outside of his traditional wing role, as Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 will require him to operate as a wing-back.
“I'm given a different role here than the one I have with Lazio, but I already played this way against Croatia.
“I've been playing as a winger again since [Manuel] Pasqual's injury and the introduction of [Roberto] Soriano.
“We're preparing the game against Bulgaria down to the last detail, as we always do.
“I can play both offensively and defensively. Nowadays you need to know how to do both things. I'll say this again, I like this role and I'm going to play it in the best possible way.”
