Milan CEO Adriano Galliani insists getting current top scorer Jeremy Menez on a free transfer “was absolutely my idea.”

The striker was out of contract with Paris Saint-Germain when Galliani swooped over the summer.

“I don’t want to say too much, but it was absolutely my idea to get him. He seemed an important player,” Galliani told Milan Channel.

The Frenchman has now scored 15 Serie A goals this season, although eight of them were penalties.

“There are many moves completed, some of them spot-on and others less so, but the important thing is to thank our extraordinary President Silvio Berlusconi who allowed Milan fans to experience eight Champions League Finals.

“People write that I shouldn’t say it anymore, but I’ll carry on as long as I have a voice.”
