Morgan De Sanctis expressed “disappointment, frustration and regret” at Roma’s Europa League exit to Fiorentina.

The Giallorossi were beaten 3-0 at the Olimpico, including a goal given away by a howler from Lukasz Skorupski.

“We are the first to be unhappy at the results and performances,” goalkeeper De Sanctis told Roma TV.

“When the fans protest their unhappiness, we have to take responsibility and listen to their thoughts. Their disappointment is also our disappointment, though.

“It’s easy to guess what the atmosphere was like in the locker room. There’s no desire to speak, just disappointment, frustration and regret, because we cared about the Europa League and wanted to fight back tonight.

“When everything changes in such a rapid and brutal fashion, three goals in 20 minutes…”

De Sanctis did not play in the game, but was the only Roma player to meet with the media after the final whistle.

“There are contracts and someone had to come here. The rules do not allow you to just avoid talking in these situations.

“The fans are angry because we haven’t won at home for three months and this was the right moment to put in a great performance. They have many things to be angry about.”
