Coach Roberto Mancini says reversing Inter's defeat against Wolfsburg is 'entirely possible', whilst looking back on the Cesena draw.

The Nerazzurri are one of five Italian teams that made it into the Europa League Last 16, but their prospects are looking grim as the German team won their home game 3-1.

Even so, il Mancio hasn’t lost his positive outlook.

“Personally, I'm always optimistic, sometimes even a bit too much,” he said in today's Press conference.

“As long as hope is alive you've got to keep trying.

“Winning 2-0 is possible. We're not talking about scoring four times without conceding.

“We're up against a strong team, but it's entirely possible.

“We need an good game to pick up morale, in view of the remainder of the championship too.”

Mancio also denied having felt overly unhappy after last Sunday's 1-1 draw against Cesena.

“I wasn't depressed, my eyes were just red because I was sorry for the boys.

“You can go from positive to negative moments very quickly and the only way to go ahead is hard work.

“That's why I was sorry for the players, because I know how hard they work and dropping points after you had a lead is a shame.

“I am an optimist by predisposition and my eyes were only red because of the wind, but I really have faith in coming third.

“Of course it's a tough challenge, but mathematically it's still wide open.

“Sometimes things go well and we're doing good, and we think we're picking up again. Other times there are mistakes.

“But in a single game, everything can happen. The players have to stay calm.

“In a night like tomorrow's you need a little luck too. The lads shouldn't worry about the goals they have to score, but only about playing to the max of their potential.”
