The two Italian clubs face off tomorrow evening in Florence in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 16 tie.

With the hosts’ hopes resting to a great extent on Salah, his Coach has offered the Giallorossi a warning.

“He's been doing very well,” admitted Montella in his Press conference on Wednesday evening.

“His impact in Italian football was excellent. He was decisive, and we're very happy.

“He can play everywhere in the attack. He's an excellent winger, but he really brings out his best when he plays as a supporting striker.

“As for [Khouma] Babacar, he's fine, he's been training regularly.

“He is, technically speaking, healed [from his thigh injury] and tomorrow we'll decide what to do.

“But I don't think that 10 days being inactive can harm him that much.

“In any case tomorrow we'll be short of a striker,” he said, in reference to Mario Gomez's injury and Alberto Gilardino's ineligibility.

“Even if Babacar gets his fitness back we'll still be short of a real poacher.”

The Giallorossi have their own absences to contend with, as an injured captain Francesco Totti will leave his place to young Adem Ljajic.

“Roma's game changes significantly if Totti isn't there, but they're still a fearsome team.

“As for Ljajic, I left a PlayStation and some Nutella in his room tonight,” he joked.
