“I hate losing. In my career I’ve lost important games and realised how much it hurts,” said Conte.

He particularly harked back to the infamous ‘rainy day in Perugia’ when Juventus lost the 2000 Scudetto on the last day of the season.

“For example, after that defeat to Perugia in 2000 I didn’t sleep for five days. You must know how to lose, but also try to do everything in order to win.

“When I do lose, I try to transmit all my negative emotions to the players, so they’ll try extra hard not to lose the next one.”

It has been noted Conte even named his daughter Vittoria – the Italian word for victory.

Naturally, he’s hoping to win Euro 2016 with Italy, but warns it will be extremely difficult.

“We take part to win, but as they say, we’re working on getting a miracle. I want to work on the pitch and I haven’t had that chance very much. When I get frustrated with the situation, I tend to show it, such as when I talked about get-togethers.”
