“In football anything can happen and we knew it would be tough,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was fantastic to see everyone fight for the result at the end and the three points can be fundamental.

“There’s a long way to go for safety and it’ll be difficult in Milan next week, but this was an important step forward.”

Veteran hitman Toni broke the deadlock yet again and Mandorlini praised the man with 10 goals this season.

“Luca is fundamental for us and he’s not even in his best form. He has experience, presence, scores goals… I can only say long live Luca Toni!”
