President Giampietro Manenti admits that Parma 'need a lot of money', but promises the club 'won't vanish'.

On from the President's reassurances earlier on today that the money to repay the Ducali's debt was available, the 46-year-old businessman went in for a meeting with the mayor to discuss the club's future.

Upon emerging from the meeting, however, the President was faced with an angry mob. While being escorted back to his car by the police, surrounded by the insults of the gathering crowd, Manenti was able to make some comments on the situation.

“The meeting didn't go well,” he said, as reported by ParmaLive.com.

“If this protest is about the lack of money, why is it only bubbling up now? There are proper ways of doing things.

“Do you really think the problem here is called 'Manenti'?

“I never disappeared from the scene. On the contrary, I've been working all week.

“The club won't vanish. And the Mapi Group's offices are not the ones they showed on TV.

“A fraudulent bankruptcy is not the kind of thing you can pull off in ten days.

“Who says I have no money? After all, I did buy the club.

“The club needs a lot of money, but you're obviously better experts than I on the exact amounts, since you're always reporting them," he said to the journalists.

“We're through examining the problem of the debts.

“We're doing everything we can. We do have a plan, I've repeated this many times now.”
