Daniele De Rossi felt Roma deserved victory against Feyenoord, even if “it’s shocking to concede against 10 men.”

The Giallorossi emerged 2-1 winners in Rotterdam, though they also conceded a temporary equaliser straight after play had been halted for 15 minutes due to crowd trouble.

“It is shocking to concede a goal against 10 men, but perhaps the break in play made us lose intensity,” De Rossi told Mediaset.

“It is shocking to concede a goal against 10 men, but perhaps the break in play made us lose intensity,” De Rossi told Mediaset.

“We did well from the start and we didn’t see the side that was struggling in the first leg at the Stadio Olimpico.

“Can this be the turning point for our season? It was certainly a decisive match, in or out, and staying in the tournament was already important.

“We really care about the Europa League and it reminds me of my adolescence watching Roma in the UEFA Cup.”

On Monday they host Juventus in a showdown for the Scudetto, separated by nine points.

“It’s another important game, we need a victory to perhaps open the door on the title again.”
