“We have to think of the next match and win by giving everything on the field,” said Garcia in a Press conference.

“We have to think of the next match and win by giving everything on the field,” said Garcia in a Press conference.
“My main motivation is to ensure the team doesn’t lose confidence. When a side doesn’t take risks to attack, it doesn’t have the opportunities to win.
“We must do everything to win at Verona, because until we put together a run of victories, there is no point talking about first place. Walter Sabatini also said we must do everything to defend second place, as it’s the only way to attack first.”
Roma haven’t won a home game in all competition over 90 minutes since November and were held 1-1 by Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday.
“We have great players and great men in this locker room, but whatever happens they must know they can resolve the game individually and collectively.
“It’s natural to feel like protecting a lead, but that doesn’t mean we have to defend in our own half and stop pressing opponents. Hopefully we won’t concede an offside goal every time, but we must stop going so deep and instead press like crazy.”
Garcia argued the transfer window and African Cup of Nations contributed to their poor form.
“Our choices on the market were excellent, but the timing could not be controlled. We didn’t know at the start of December that Gervinho would be in the African Cup of Nations to the Final, then Victor Ibarbo got injured after two days.
“Responsibility for results is down to everyone, both positive and negative. We’re all on the same boat.
“We are working long-term to build a great Roma for the future. We are working towards this, not to win a Scudetto once every 30 years. We want to fight for the title every year.
“Obviously we are going through a difficult moment, which seems normal considering the way this season went. We are much stronger if the players feel the belief around them. I want everyone to make their criticism constructive.
“We want to rise to the top in Italy and slowly in Europe too.”
Garcia was asked whether there was truth in reports Roma players are losing faith in his tactics.
“You’d have to ask the players that. I see no change in the attitude between us.”
