Rudi Garcia bemoans injuries for derailing Roma’s season in a fiery Europa League Press conference.

The Giallorossi Coach was asked whether injuries were a smokescreen for his side falling seven points behind Juventus in Serie A, ahead of the match against Feyenoord.

“Can you tell me another team that has been affected by serious injuries in the same way Roma have?” Garcia asked assembled journalists.

“Can you give me another example? I don’t want to talk about injuries, I want to talk about the players I have available.

“I don’t think about those who don’t play, I trust the players I have available.

“Playing so many games doesn’t help, but I always see the glass as half-full, and I’d say that being second in the table after so many problems is a great thing, not a bad thing.

“We still have everything to play for, and now we must talk about the Europa League. Our number one goal is to get back to winning ways.

“All I can say is, if all the players return to 100 per cent, we can handle all the remaining games. There are still three and a half months [of the season] to go, and a lot of games.

“The fans should know that no-one is more disappointed than us, we understand that they may be disappointed after the game, but during [the game] it’s common sense to encourage the team.

“We have to run a lot, and sweat for the shirt. If you can find me an example, I’ll take it.”
