“I’ll be back at the Stadio Meazza and it will certainly be a fantastic moment for me,” he told Inter Channel.

“I hope to get a warm welcome in a stadium that gave me everything, from my Champions League debut to the first Serie A game.

“I am happy, regardless of whether I play or not. I just have wonderful memories of Inter, then I had an experience in England and I have now grown up.

“I have objectives and want to achieve them with Inter. I’ve always won with the Nerazzurri jersey on my back, from the youngest level of the youth academy.”

Santon’s opponents tomorrow are on-form Palermo with their star striker Paulo Dybala.

“I know the team and Dybala is very talented, but we need these three points and they are very important for us.”
