Roma have signed Argentine defender Nicolas Spolli from Catania on loan with option to buy.
"It is all done with Roma. It's official," agent Stefano Barattin told laroma24.it this evening.
Their first choices for the role were thought to be Vlad Chiriches of Tottenham and Younes Kaboul.
The Argentinean centre-back arrives on loan for six months at a cost of €1.5m with an option to buy at the end of the season for a further €1.5m.
Spolli turns 32 later this month and has been at Catania since July 2009.
