Significant speculation has surrounded the striker's new contract, with rumours suggesting that il Diavolo would even double his wages collected at Roma.

However, as the 23-year-old completes formalities this evening on his initial loan transfer, SportMediaset are running the line that his contract will come in at the same level as with the Giallorossi.

Specifically, it is suggested that Destro will take home an annual salary worth €2.2m-per-year, the same as he did in the capital, though this amount could rise to €2.5m with the bonuses.

The duration of the contract is reported to be until 2019.
