Giampiero Ventura argues Torino’s last-second win over Inter was “not just good fortune or a fluke.”

The Granata hadn’t beaten Inter, home or away, since 1994 and their last victory at San Siro was 27 years ago.

“A goal scored at the last minute might seem like just good fortune or a fluke, but in reality we had several chances to score during the game and only allowed Inter two efforts from long range,” Ventura told Rai Sport.

“Inter had practically no space. For the past month this team has finally changed approach, so we are on the right track, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

“My smile has returned after a start to the season that left me somewhat perplexed.”

Maxi Lopez is proving a great signing from Chievo, as he scored last week and provided the assist this afternoon.

“Maxi Lopez has only been with us for 10 days, but has already been decisive twice. He’s doing well and I am convinced that with hard work he can become an important player again.”
