Earlier reports had spelled gloom for the player's transfer with the Giallorossi, including statements from Jose Mourinho saying that it would take a 'phenomenal offer' to make it happen.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Egyptian winger's transfer to the Italian capital is now a matter of course.

According to Di Marzio, Roma will ‘take a few days’ to decide if they want to go through with the deal, but have otherwise now agreed terms on an initial loan deal for the 22-year-old.

It is understood that the Giallorossi will hold the option of sending Salah back within a time-frame of six to 12 months, should he fail to impress.

If this proves to be the case, then the cost of the loan, believed to be €500,000, would be refunded by Chelsea.

On the other hand, should Roma wish to buy the player permanently, the purchase clause stands at an agreed €17m, plus a bonus payment contingent on Champions League qualification.

Salah's salary in the Italian capital will reportedly see him earn €2.2m net until June of 2019. The Gazzetta dello Sport reiterate these reports.
