Lazio President Claudio Lotito dubbed Felipe Anderson “priceless” and claims Roma verbally “assaulted” him.

The patron spoke to Il Messaggero newspaper about tomorrow’s game with Napoli and the controversial war of words that followed the 2-2 derby draw.

“I have no problem with Roma, but I confirm my opinions on them,” said Lotito.

“I never had any bitter or hostile attitude towards Roma. The two clubs have different visions. I always acted as the ant and not the grasshopper.

“I didn’t criticise them. It all started during a phone-in when I said Totti’s selfie was inopportune, something I still believe. It would’ve been better to do that after the game and not during.

“I also consider Juventus to be stronger than Roma. I am sorry that a technical evaluation should be followed by the verbal assault I was subjected to.”

Lotito had exchanged a series of increasingly bitter statements with Roma President James Pallotta, which culminated in the Giallorossi chief calling him “foolish and ignorant.”

After moving on from the Roma row, Lotito commented on Lazio’s star striker Felipe Anderson.

“He is priceless, like a precious jewel. He is a world class player with great technical potential and moral fortitude. We’ve always sought out the man as well as the player.”
