Andrea Pirlo confirmed he is trying to save his old club Brescia, but won’t make direct investments.

The story emerged today in Il Giornale di Brescia that the Juventus midfielder was going to help buy out the club where he started his career.

“I have the future of Brescia in my heart, as this is a club I have a deep emotional bond with,” Pirlo told news agency ANSA.

“I have the future of Brescia in my heart, as this is a club I have a deep emotional bond with,” Pirlo told news agency ANSA.

“However, my involvement will not go beyond urging local businessmen to make a genuine intervention to save it.”

Pirlo would not be the first Juventus player to own another club, as Gianluigi Buffon is patron of his hometown side Carrarese in Lega Pro.
