Inter's slow pace in settling a deal for Dani Osvaldo may push Genoa elsewhere, as they begin talks for Roma’s Marco Borriello.

The Grifone have recently lost Alessandro Matri – and new midfield signing Tino Costa – to injury and are looking for a replacement upfront.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoblu are the closest team to Inter's Osvaldo, but the player is not particularly attracted by the option.

Genoa’s situation is seen that they are keen to bring in a forward by the end of this week, so if talks over Osvaldo cannot advance in time, attention would be focused on closing a return for Borriello.

To that end, director Stefano Capozucca is reported by Gianluca Di Marzio’s website as having held talks today with Giallorosso sporting director Walter Sabatini.

The team from northern Italy are reportedly offering Borriello a contract for one-and-a-half years with the possibility of extending to a third season.
