Genoa have lost both top scorer Alessandro Matri and big new signing Tino Costa for six weeks.
The news was confirmed via a statement on the club website today following medical tests.
Matri limped off during Genoa’s 3-1 defeat at Inter on Sunday afternoon and has been diagnosed with a grade II left calf strain.
Midfielder Tino Costa only arrived last week from Spartak Moscow, but he also suffered a grade II lesion to the left thigh muscle.
