Juventus and Fiorentina are discussing a straight swap between Sebastian Giovinco and Norberto Neto, but Tottenham are involved too.

Both players will be free agents at the end of the season and have refused to sign new deals with their respective clubs.

According to Sky Sport Italia, they could resolve each other’s issues by engaging in a straight swap in the January transfer window.

That way the clubs would avoid losing their talent on free transfers, while Neto and Giovinco could finally get some playing time rather than spend the next six months on the bench.

Fiorentina have made it entirely clear they do not intend to play Neto ever again after he turned down a contract renewal.

He insisted that he was doing so not because of financial considerations, but so that he could choose his next destination.

Many suggest his intended next club is Juventus, so doing a deal six months early would suit everyone.

Giovinco has repeatedly been linked with the Viola, who are in dire need of strikers after injuries to Giuseppe Rossi, Federico Bernardeschi and Khouma Babacar.

However, Spanish site Fichajes.net claim that Tottenham have set their sights on Giovinco too and are preparing a January swoop.

The 27-year-old Atomic Ant had previously been linked with Arsenal in the Premier League.
