Sampdoria are believed to be on the verge of securing a deal for the Colombian forward, with the player himself describing the Blucerchiati as ‘an ideal destination’.

Zebrette President Pozzo accepts that a move may benefit the striker, but hints that any deal may not be permanent.

“The transfer window is open until the end of January, we will do something,” the Udinese patron told Mondo Udinese.

“There will be departures and arrivals. As for Muriel, he has blamed a series of injuries and was unable to score.

“I think a change of scenery might benefit him. But it will, if necessary, be an agreement where we say we don’t lose control of him, he’s talented and valuable.”
