Roberto Mancini “could not be happy” with Inter’s point at Juventus, as he wanted the victory, but seemed confident on Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Nerazzurri have fought back four times from a goal down in just eight Mancio games in charge, but did this only four times in 37 under Walter Mazzarri.

“It was a difficult game, but I think we should have regrets at the three or four chances in the second half that we didn’t take to win,” he told Sky Sport Italia after the 1-1 draw.

“In the first half Juventus had us under pressure from the start, but we improved after the break and should’ve made more of our opportunities.

“Games last 90 minutes. Juve could’ve scored another in the first half, but we had chances to win too and that’s why I can’t be happy with the result.

“After the break we had more control of the game and attacked their full-backs to ensure they couldn’t push forward as much.

“I was satisfied when we lost at Roma, as it takes time to change the mentality and the tactics of the team. Mistakes can happen, but I think the players are improving. At the same time, when we have chances like this in Turin, a big team has to take them.”

Hernanes played with Mateo Kovacic in a supporting position behind Mauro Icardi.

“He is coming back from a long injury and in the first half was not in a role he is accustomed to, although he can certainly do well there with the right movement. When he is in better shape, he’ll be a very important player for Inter.”

Daniel Osvaldo tried to physically attack teammate Mauro Icardi on the pitch, visibly swore at Mancini and there are reports the problems continued in the tunnel.

“I don’t want to talk about this,” was Mancini’s reply.

Mancini was also asked about reports Inter are on the verge of signing Shaqiri from Bayern Munich. Could he arrive in time for Sunday’s game with Genoa?

“I don’t know if that’ll be possible. A Coach always hopes to do things quickly, but for many reasons that can’t always happen.

“Lukas Podolski hadn’t played in a while, so was not fully fit, but he can give Inter a big hand this season.

“A Coach wins with good players. Without them you might win the odd game, but not a League or a trophy.”
