While the Giallorossi have been insistently linked to La Viola’s ‘keeper, with his fate likely to be sealed today, the team from the capital may just turn their attention to a new objective altogether.

According to Il Messaggero, Roma are looking to the services of Handanovic, whose contract expires in June 2016 and who may soon be available a slashed price compared to Inter's current valuation of €15m-€18m.

The operation would apparently be linked to a number of others, including a potential swap deal between strikers Mattia Destro and Mauro Icardi.

Furthermore, Roma director Walter Sabatini has reportedly assured Fiorentina counterpart Daniele Prade before Christmas that the capital club will not negotiate with Neto, to maintain good relations between the clubs.

On from this, Il Messaggero say that the Lupi are looking to further boost chances of picking up Handanovic by exploiting their strong ties with Neto's agent Stefano Castagna to try to make sure the 25-year-old goes to Inter rather than title rivals Juventus.
