Norberto Neto refused to sign a contract renewal with Fiorentina, but could be exchanged with Juventus for Sebastian Giovinco.

The goalkeeper finally made it official on Saturday, confirming he has no intention of putting pen to paper on a new contract.

“Neto was keen to make it known that his decision is entirely unrelated to financial motivations, with his desire to be free to decide his own future the sole reason behind his move,” read a statement released by the club.

It is reported this means he wants to join Juventus, where he’d start learning from Gigi Buffon to take over in future.

Roma, Inter and Liverpool are also interested in Neto, but it is claimed he has his heart set on Juve.

This could still work in Fiorentina’s favour, as they could offer Neto now in exchange for another unsettled figure – Giovinco.

The Atomic Ant is in a similar position, refusing to sign a contract renewal because he wants to choose his next destination.

Giovinco has been repeatedly linked with Fiorentina, but considered too expensive, so Neto would balance that out and ensure neither club loses a player for free.

Neto has been warned he will not play for the Viola again, as Ciprian Tatarusanu takes over in goal for the rest of the season following this snub.
