Beppe Iachini believes Palermo threw away two points with Atalanta and trusts his top stars won’t be sold next month.

The Sicilians had been 3-1 up at the break in Bergamo, but were pegged back to a 3-3 final score.

“We had a great first half and always try to play with our identity. However, after the break we made some mistakes that changed the result,” Iachini told Sport Mediaset.

“We had a great first half and always try to play with our identity. However, after the break we made some mistakes that changed the result,” Iachini told Sport Mediaset.

“When Atalanta got back into the game, they had a psychological lift and started to dominate us. I am angry, as that shouldn’t happen.

“We must pay more attention in Serie A, as all the teams have quality and can punish the slightest error. As for the penalty, it looked dubious to me and I said so, but I apologise to the referee for my behaviour.”

Not only is Paulo Dybala putting in spectacular performances, but now Franco Vazquez is also catching the eye of top clubs. Will Iachini’s stars still be at Palermo in January?

“I think so. The club makes the decisions, my staff and I simply try to make the best of the players at our disposal. We will keep working, aware we are on the right path. We lack experience and sometimes miss that little bit of nous that can help you win games like this.”

Palermo have set a new Serie A club record by going eight rounds unbeaten.
