Sampdoria Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic’s two-round Coppa Italia touchline ban has been halved on appeal.

The tactician was given the suspension after insulting an official during his side’s Coppa victory over Brescia.

It was today reduced to one game on appeal plus a €5,000 fine.

Mihajlovic had apologised for his behaviour, offering to dock his pay with the money going to buy a new ventilator at the Istituto Gaslini hospital in Genoa.

He also pledged to buy dinner for the entire squad. “After all, what I ask of them, I ask of myself first, so it’s the right thing to do.”
