Juventus drew the German team today as their adversaries for the round of the last sixteen in the Champions League. Nedved, speaking to Mediaset immediately after the draw, attempted to take a balanced approach.

“It wasn't the best possible scenario because they are a team that commands respect, but certainly it could have been worse.

“Let us not underestimate Borussia, because they are a different team in Europe than what we see in Germany, with many classy players of a European level.

“They play an excellent football and they run a lot.

“We can play at their same level because they are not invincible and we want to qualify for the next round.”

The Juventus director also took the opportunity to speak about the prospects of the Bianconeri.

“We have some talent around like [Simone] Zaza or [Domenico] Berardi that in the future will come back here and lend us a hand.”

The ex-Ballon d'Or also commented on who should win his trophy this year.

“For this season it's easy, because even though [Manuel] Neuer won the World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo is doing extraordinary things”.

Juventus play their first game against Borussia Dortmund at home on the 17th of February.
