Napoli Coach Rafael Benitez has praised Marek Hamsik’s performance in the win over Slovan Bratislava last night.
The Slovakian has been linked with a move away from San Paolo after fans jeered and insulted the Partenopei captain in recent weeks, but Hamsik played and scored in yesterday’s Europe League victory.
“He played a good game and he scored,” Benitez reflected in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“We’ve seen a player who was in a familiar environment.

“It was important to win. It wasn’t a complicated game, even if we could have played better. It was good that we didn’t concede any goals.
“[Dries] Mertens, aside from his goal gave a lot of help to his teammates and moved well.
“He gave a noteworthy performance along with [Duvan] Zapata.
“As for [Mariano] Andujar, he showed us all of his personality.”
