“Drawing on home turf is always a negative result, as we gifted two goals,” confessed Benitez on Sky Sport Italia.

“Drawing on home turf is always a negative result, as we gifted two goals,” confessed Benitez on Sky Sport Italia.
“We managed to fight back and in the end could even have won, but we are disappointed. We need to score more goals and concede fewer of them, it’s that simple. It means improving both forward and back.
“The reaction of the team was positive and if we had scored the third goal at the death then we’d be here talking about a great comeback, but I also look at the errors of the first 20 minutes.”
Napoli looked decidedly toothless until Gonzalo Higuain came off the bench.
“He missed two training sessions this week due to a muscular problem, so was not 100 per cent fit. De Guzman has a lot of quality and again today had a good game.”
The Coach was asked about his contract renewal talks, as the current deal expires in June 2015.
“We had initial talks and must wait for the right moment to continue discussing the renewal. Right now we have to focus on the games. I don’t think my contract situation can influence the team.
“You can’t say this squad isn’t trying, as we’ve done well on many occasions, but need to avoid making these mistakes.”
