“Clearly knowing we put in good performances without picking up points is not easy to handle on a confidence level, as it is disarming.
“At the same time, we know it can’t go wrong all the time, so if we have the right determination and hunger, then the results will have to arrive eventually.
“We therefore have to learn from our mistakes and not repeat them against a great side like Lazio. They can choose to leave Djordjevic or Klose on the bench, which shows you their strength. Candreva is out, but Keita and others can still push down the flanks.”
Donadoni could well be sacked if he loses again today, so does he regret turning down an offer to join Lazio last season?
“I am accustomed to making a choice and sticking with it all the way. Looking back or thinking ‘what if’ isn’t in my nature, as the only thing that counts for me is reality. It would be banal, stupid and silly to suggest I’d have done better going to Lazio.
“I think going back on your decisions is the sign of a loser and I do not see myself as a loser. I want to get us out of this situation, so all my energy is dedicated to this objective.”
