Torino assistant manager Salvatore Sullo felt the Granata “deserved victory” after a 2-2 draw with Palermo.

He was on the bench due to a touchline ban for Giampiero Ventura and spoke to Sky Sport Italia.

“I haven’t spoken to the Coach, but I feel it’s a shame, as we equalised after a difficult start and were comfortably in control.

“Aside from Dybala’s great flick, it was a goal we gave away, then we controlled in the second half and deserved victory.

“I think we only really got the opening 25 minutes wrong and allowed Palermo few opportunities on the counter.

“Going a goal down at that moment knocked the wind out of our sails, but we did well to get back on track and it’s a shame we didn’t take more of our chances.

“We reached this game after two defeats and a draw in which we realistically had three great performances where we deserved much more than we achieved against Sassuolo, Club Brugge and Juventus.”

Torino are in the running to progress in the Europa League and this may well have taken something out of them in Serie A.

“Farnerud was out for six months with a cruciate ligament injury and therefore needs time to get into shape. We need patience, as we have many new players and not much time to work with them. We are not accustomed to playing European fixtures and when there are breaks many of them are away on international duty.”

Sullo was asked how he felt to be acting as the Coach for this game and speaking to the media.

“I am always at ease, as I do a job that I love and not everyone can say that. It means a lot to me, as I have a real passion for football.”
