The Giallorossi twice saw their lead clawed back by Roberto Mancini’s men, but a Miralem Pjanic brace secured all three points in a six-goal thriller.

It was a much-needed morale-booster after conceding a last-gasp Champions League equaliser at CSKA Moscow on Tuesday.

“I was not worried at all. I know what my locker room is like and how united the players are,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Every time we stepped up the pace, we caused problems for a great side like Inter. The best response is always on the pitch and we replied tonight.

“As I told the team at half-time, Gervinho was a little isolated on the crosses, so we need more players in the box when we put those balls in.”

Roma maintained their 100 per cent home record in seven games this season, but conceded their first goals at the Olimpico.

“We conceded on a set play and the second was a deflection off our player. That means tactically the team responded well against a side with quality in attack.”

Juventus were about to drop points with Torino today until an Andrea Pirlo winner in the final seconds, but Garcia assures that did not affect Roma’s performance.

“When I say it depends only on us, I mean it and the players trust me on that. There’s no point looking at other results.

“We played a formidable match and scored four goals. We can improve in some areas, but can only be happy and convinced we can fight for the win in every game.

“I liked to see the joy of the whole bench and the enthusiasm of the substitutes after the goals. We must always enjoy our football and we did that tonight.”

Radja Nainggolan has become a key figure for the Roma midfield since his arrival from Cagliari in January.

“I knew Radja, as in Lille we were very close to the Belgium border and I wondered why was he never called up? Considering we lost Strootman last season, we fortunately did not feel Kevin’s absence too much thanks to Nainggolan.”

Roma need a 0-0 draw or a victory against Manchester City to progress in the Champions League, but Garcia shrugged off all questions about that fixture.

“We are not thinking about them. The most important game of our season will be the next against Sassuolo so we can continue our march.

“City won today, we know they are a great team, but we have all the time in the world to think about that. Right now we must focus on Serie A and nothing else.”
