The Aquile now have just one point from the last three Serie A rounds against Empoli, Juventus and the Flying Donkeys.

“We tried everything we could to win the game and controlled the match, but we lacked precision in our finishing,” the Coach told Sport Mediaset.

“The team was coming off two consecutive defeats, but interpreted the challenge well. We wanted to win, but were unable to do it.

“The performance was overall satisfying, as the side battled in every area of the pitch. We barely ran any risks and a point is valuable, but we have to improve in attack considering how many chances we created and did not convert today.”

Pioli was asked about teenage striker Keita Balde Diao, who is regularly left on the bench.

“He has no fitness problems, it’s just that we have many forwards. He must continue like this, so he can return to being that important player we know.”
