Marek Hamsik confessed Napoli “did not play well,” but the result was what mattered against Sparta Prague.

The 0-0 draw proved enough to ensure the Partenopei go through to the next round of the Europa League.

A victory against Slovan Bratislava, who lost all five games so far, would secure top spot in their group.

“We knew it would be tough to play here, but the important thing was to get the result and we achieved it,” Hamsik told Sport Mediaset.

“Now we want to beat Slovan to finish top of the group. We did not play well in the first half, while we got back on our feet in the second and tried to win the game with several good moves.”

Hamsik was moved out to the left of the supporting trident with Jorginho in the central role.

“We know that we have difficulties in that role with Insigne and Mertens out. Benitez asked me to play wide and I do it, but we all know I am better in the middle.”
