The Italy boss had complained bitterly at the lack of time he had with players, as after a 1-0 friendly win over Albania he won’t meet with them again for four months.

“I was pleased to hear Allegri and Pioli’s comments on one of the issues I had in the agenda after three intense months in which we played six games between qualifiers and friendlies,” said Conte.

“I had spoken to the FIGC to spark a series of technical meetings with other Coaches and my idea is to meet, along with Serie A tacticians, the Coaches of Serie B, Lega Pro and the youth academies of professional clubs along with the regional bosses of the Amateur League.

“We are open to the meetings right away and I hope all the Federal components share that approach.

“After the round table suggested yesterday by Lotito regarding Azzurri get-togethers, it is important to plan these meetings that allow us to work together for a common objective: the growth of Italian football.

“If we want to increase our competitiveness on an international level, I think it is fundamental we have a confrontation on training methods.”
