The Coach was at a publicity event this evening and talked about the upcoming Derby della Madonnina.

“I never forget my goals in the derby. I was fortunate enough to score in my first derby and we won that 4-2.

“The Champions League semi-final derby in 2003 remains in my heart and that of all Milanisti. It will always be with us. We hope to one day have another Champions League semi-final to go with it.

“This season the most important thing is to make our fans happy. We’d be very proud to achieve that.”

It will be a different game on Sunday, as Roberto Mancini has taken over from Walter Mazzarri during the break for international duty.

“I met Mancini on Monday at the Gazzetta dello Sport event. There has always been a great deal of respect between us. We will meet again on Sunday in a huge derby and of course I hope we win.”

Inzaghi also hailed President Silvio Berlusconi, who will make another Friday visit to the training ground.

“Our President is the soul of our Milan. With him we feel more confident, backed by the passion and hunger to bring Milan back to where it was.”
